I am an associate professor of education at Gratz College where I teach courses in creativity, personality, leadership, and motivation.

I am also an artist and a writer.

Currently I serve as the Editor-in-Chief of The Keaton Chronicle, the official publication of The International Buster Keaton Society.

My writing has often been about interesting people, including essays on visual artist Ray Johnson, Hollywood icon Sal Mineo, and punk musician Darby Crash for the Gay & Lesbian Review.

My book about American philosopher John Dewey was published in October 2024. I just turned in the manuscript for a book about creativity, It is rooted in Dewey, my years teaching creativity to business and education students, and my experience as an artist.

My art making these days is mostly collage. Between 1999-2013 I did performance art in venues across Philadelphia including The Ethical Society (in Rittenhouse), The Community Education Center (West Phila) and even Tattooed Moms bar (South Phila). My 2004 low budget puppet show Wally Joyner Was Not My Monkey was a City Paper Editor’s pick for the Fringe Festival.
